Linköping University
Linköping University (LiU) was granted university status in 1975 and today has 37,600 students (full-time equivalents 19,200), including 2,000 international students. In 2022, LiU landed on spot 38 of the Times Higher Education ranking of the world’s young universities. This is the best result ever for LiU and the highest among Swedish higher education institutions younger than 50 years. For several years now, Linköping University has been among the top 2 percent in the world in the three most important international rankings.
In close collaboration with the business world and society, LiU conducts world-leading, boundary-crossing research in fields including materials science, IT and hearing. More than half of the LiU research budget comes from external funding.
LiU is accredited by the Swedish Higher Education Authority (UKÄ) and offers degree programmes within Bussines, Design, Engineering and Computer Sciences, Environmental studies, Natural sciences and Social Sciences.
