The Abat Oliba CEU University has its origins in the Abat Oliba CEU University Center, which created the San Pablo CEU Foundation in 1973 through an affiliation and collaboration agreement with the University of Barcelona. It began classes at its first location, on Pearson Avenue in Barcelona, in 1974 and, since then, it has trained more than 8,500 university graduates.
In 1993 it moved to the Bellesguard Campus and, as the Abat Oliba CEU higher education teaching center, it now teaches all the degrees in Law and Business Administration and Management, as well as the first cycle of the degree in Economics.
Ten years later, the new Abat Oliba CEU University was recognized by Law 20/2003, of July 4, of the Parliament of Catalonia, creating two centers in Barcelona: the Faculty of Social Sciences and the Polytechnic School of Engineering.
